Our all time favorite way to crackle paint for all of our paper art projects. The magic is in the UHU glue & the heat tool. As the paint dries it shrinks and crackles. You can get the same results by letting the paint dry overnight. When the paint is completely dry, sand back the paint until it is very smooth and then distress. We love to use crackled paint backgrounds as a starting point for mixed media collage art.

Thanks for the tutorial....perfect timing. I am in a craft club that has had the same (8) ladies for 29 years. Next month, my partner and I have the craft and we are painting/decorating a wood snowman and the crackle idea is perfect...we have used crackle GREAT idea!
