We have been waiting for these heart pendants to come in and they finally arrived last week. You know one thing calls for another so we had to get the glass inserts, bails, and new paper collage sheets that fit the pendants. All in the name of Valentine paper crafting and jewelry making! The heart pendants are 1 inch and come in 3 different finishes - antique silver, brass, and copper. You can finish them any number of ways, top your image with the glass insert, squeeze on some diamond glaze, or top them off with Magic Glos and put the charms in the sun to cure. Here is the thing about Magic Glos - it domes as it dries and looks like resin. It really is a fantastic easy to use non toxic finish for paper arts. The diamond glaze is a good finish too but it dries flat. For me the best solution is to top off your pendant with the glass. A dab of diamond glaze will hold the glass in place and dries completely clear within a 1/2 hour or so. And we also have the one inch circles, and squares, and new paper collage sheets for these pendants too!
Everything you need for an afternoon of jewelry making is at Red Lead in St. Louis, or on our website. If you are a rubber stamping fanatic ( like some people we know) our Valentine rubber stamps work great for jewelry making too. Just stamp part of an image on paper with Ranger Archival Ink color in with your favorite markers, and trim out for the pendant that you are making.
Last but not least!
Our new Heart Clear Charms are the easiest thing in the world to make. Let me tell you about them. We have 2 different styles, folk hearts and sweet hearts. Our super sticky adhesive works great for putting the paper on the charms, or you can use diamond glaze, even a uhu glue stick works good too. So that is about it for the valentine crafting post for today!
One more thing though - here is a little heart for you!
Have a great weekend and we will talk again on Monday!
