We are starting some new Christmas Traditions this year. Shopping on Christmas Eve morning, Italian lunch on the Hill, and Cookie Baking Christmas morning. Christmas Cookies have always been a big part of our family holiday. Bake together - stay together! Chocolate Chip, Peanut Butter, Oatmeal Raisin, White Chocolate Chip, plus more. In the past we have baked for hours on end. This year we are starting early, and not baking nearly as many dozens. Maybe 15 dozen. Of ourse, we will be eating them piping hot as they come out of the oven, so maybe 17 dozen. We can count on Sheila to whip up a batch of her famous choclate fudge too! You all know we are always looking for some crafty thing to do on the holidays - so we are going to give our hand at rubber stamping cookies. Have any of you heard about this? If the results are good, we will take a few photos. So any old or new Christmas Traditions you want to share with us? We always love to hear what you are up to! I had to throw in a few Valentine images beause you know what is right around the corner!
Check back often because Chris is itching to do another giveaway!

My new traditon is giving hand made Christmas ornaments. I learned how to make rosettes this year and use these as a base. My favorites are the ones that use found objects - they are always interesting.

Merry Christmas everyone!
We start off the Merry season in the first week of December when my son - now living by himself- comes around to help decorate the Christmas tree. He's the elf in charge of the lights in the tree. While my hubby is busy putting the hanging wires on the ornaments. As chief elf I oversee it all and have final dips on where all the precious decorations go on the tree;p That's when the Christmas season begins for me.

How generous you ladies are. Have a very Merry Christmas.
On Christmas night we write in a Christmas journal every year. What we did that was most fun to us, our favorite gifts or visitors or favorite foods or treats, anything that we want to remember for years to come.

Christmas is the one time of year that we make our traditional Norwegian cookies and I just haven't had time to get started. Yesterday, my eldest son surprised me by baking up six batches of cookies in one day. I came home from a long day at work to a warm kitchen full of wonderful Norwegian cookie aromas! Merry Christmas!!

Every year I put out supplies for making placecards. As everyone arrives, they head for the table of goodies and decorate their card. I look for special "holders" through the year. Initially, I bought nutcrackers (to use each year), but they were so popular that everyone wanted to take them home! I think this year, we are going to decorate mini sacks (that I will fill with treats as they are put on the Christmas dinner table. Merry Christmas!
