How many times have you messed up a stencil project because the stencil slipped? I have more times than I can count. Removable tape is my best friend when it comes to stenciling. If you are working on a mixed media stenciled background a little slip here and there makes no difference - it is art! But a card is different. I want everything in place with no slips! I started the Hello Friend card with a bright apple green A2 sized card and stenciled with our new Small Word Stencils in a circular motion with black permanent ink. Let the ink dry before you remove the stencils to avoid any smudges. Also it is a good idea to take a minute and clean your hands too.
Stamp our new small dress You Make Me Smile with black ink and color in with markers. I used Copic Markers for this card. You may have noticed I colored out of the lines:) That's ok because I am cutting out the dress and adding it to a scallop. Punch out a scallop and stamp with the You Are My Sunshine sentiment with black ink,
Layer the scallops on the stenciled Hello Friend card with permanent double sided tape. Add the stamped and colored dress - I used a pop dot to add a little dimension. Embellish with a tiny black button. The Hello Friend You are My Sunshine Card took me about 45 minutes to make start to finish. And I forgot to tell you the permanent black ink I used on this project is Ranger Archival Jet Black Ink. xo
