Our Wednesday News is out this morning with Free Vintage Images to all of you that are on our e-mail list to receive our weekly Sat. morning news. Plus a reminder that this is the last weekend of the month, and as planned Wonderful Weekend is all set to go!
Plus we have new rubber stamps from Penny Black and Memory Box.
you all know how we feel about birds!
Last but not heast, have you heard about the new Graphic 45 papers? The Wizard of Oz! The scrap papers and paper pads are on order, and we will let you know as soon as they are in.
In between making art, and packing your orders this week we did squeeze in some time for one of our favorite past times - gardening. This year I am determined to have a flock of hummingbirds zooming around the patio. Reds and pinks, with some orange and fuschia thrown in for good measure should make them happy to dart in and stay awhile. If you are a birder like we are the latest issue of Birds and Blooms is all about hummingbirds. A fantastic story about a couple in Las Vegas who wrote a book, and created a film about the life of a hummingbird is featured this month too.
Take a look at how easy it is to make cards with your Artist Trading Cards. These ATC's were made by Chris with our new rubber stamps, and I layered some scrap papers and stamped some words to make cards.
As you can see, we are all about flowers this month! What do you think about these for making garden art? Or these darling little houses?
The weather here in St. Louis has been more like October instead of May. Yesterday (Sunday) was dreary, rainy, windy. The perfect excuse to escape to my studio for an afternoon of art making. As usual, it took several hours to pick up and put away scraps, stamps, inks and such from my last afternoon escape. Truth be told, we installed cable in my little studio, bought a small TV, and I found myself watching instead of making. HGTV and the new Oprah OWN kept me happily occupied while waiting for the paint to dry on the dresses.
But I have to tell you what is even better:
Last week dear Husband bought the TV of his dreams, when he showed me
the Red Lead Videos on You Tube it all made perfect sense.
Chris has been making Chotski Art Pins like a crazy woman for days. Every time I turn around she is in the studio digging through all of her Tim Holtz stuff, Red Lead patina charms, and our word rubber stamps. When I ask her what she was going to do with all of this beautifullness, she said, " Swap, of course!" All of the swap details will be in the e-mail newsletter tomorrow morning.
Don't you love that jeweled brad?
Aother reminder about our new Summer Hours.

Wine and Cheese served after 2 p.m.
A little bit of what's new at the store - Memory Box Scrap Book Papers, 6" x 6" Scrap Pads, and rubber stamps flew in.

Valise 6" x 6" Scrap Pads!
New Bazzill Papers too - Adorable!
New charms are in too, but I don't have any images of them yet. Today and tomorrow I will work on getting All of the Art Swaps in our FaceBook photo albums. You have to see how fab all of the Cottages and Spring Tags are. Hop over in the next day or 2 and leave a comment on your favorites!
As Chris was setting up for the Ranger and Tim Holtz demo this past Sat. I took a few photos before eveyone arrived, because I felt pretty sure the demo was going to be well attended with standong room only. And why not? Chris was sharing her techniques on how to make these beautiful tags with Tim Holtz Stains, and Adirondack Ink Pads, and Paula from 7 Gypsies was coming to the store.
Take a look:
I was minding the store and not in the studio, so I'm not sure what stains she used but my best guess is Broken China & Peeled Paint, and she stamped our Spring Tree with Adirondack Lettuce. Looks like she might have had her favorite water color technique going on too!
Midway into the demo, we introduced Paula from 7 Gypsies! She brought a bunch of her 7 Gypsies books for show and tell, shared her wonderful stories with us, and was just being her friendly creative self - It was Our Lucky Day that she was able to find time to visit the store while in St. Louis.
A little side story:
Paulas friend, Lesley from Calif. just moved to St. Louis, and heard that Paula was going to be at the store, and surprised her with a visit!
Another pair of Beautiful Earrings at the store, and more new scrap book papers from Basic Grey, Sweet Threads.
If there is one thing we know it is that you love birds, bird cages, nests, and eggs. For the past few months we have been selling a small selection of earrings at the store. A new shipment arrived yesterday. Some of the earrings are sparkly with colored rhinestones, others are beaded, and then there are our all time favorites. Upon discovering the bird cage earrings shown here, we decided to take the plunge and buy several dozen pairs of a few different styles (all bird related) and put them on the website too. Hope you can make it to the store tomorrow for our Free Demo @ Noon. Chris has made some beautiful tags with Ranger Inks, and Tim Holtz Stains to share with you. Paula from Seven Gypsies will share her art and stories. And you can check out all of the new earrings too - it's ok to treat yourself tomorrow for a Mothers Day treat.
