We have been so busy talking about our new rubber stamps that we haven't mentioned all of the new papers at the store. My best guess is about 50 new papers have been stocked in the past week or so, plus we have papers on sale at 4 for $1.00-Good stuff too!
I have been scanning in the Artist Trading Cards from our last swap-Sew Wonderful-
and let me tell you, what's not to love?
Hopefully I will post a few of the Sew Wonderful ATC's here before the end of the week and see if I can talk Chris into another give-away of Red Lead rubber stamps and a few cute sewing charms too!
This week only-today through next Friday July 2, 2010, spend $25.00 (excludes shipping charges) and receive Artist Trading Card Birthday Girl 2010
The winners (3) of the Story Stamps will be announced in todays e-mail newsletter, it should be showing up in your inbox this morning before 9a.m.
Eveybody cetainly shared their art love with Dottee. Thanks for all of the great comments!
It has been mighty hot here in St. Louis, and my little hummingbirds have quit coming to the feeder, but the big news around here this week is that I do have a baby chipmunk hiding in the garage doing who knows what! Plus Jewel (the dog with an attitude) is going to doggie day care next week, we'll let you know how that turns out!
A few days ago I mentioned that we were doing a little sprucing up around the store. Carried up a few vintage suitcases and old dictionaries and went to work!
This is just a peek at the beginning of the project. I am painting the suticase with Behr paint from Home Depot, it is paint and primer all in one-Heaven! Anyway, I am swishing some paint on the exterior of the suitcase to freshen it up a bit-and papering the inside with pages torn from an old dictionary. Might do a little rubber stamping on top of the paper, and collage some of our vintage images on too. This is one of those projects that I really don't know what the end result will be until it is finished.
Hopefully more photos in a day or 2.
A short story:
Several years ago we were lucky enough to buy the contents of a large art supply store, and some of the fixtures. If you have been at the store you probably noticed some metal cabinets painted all zany. Red and White of course. When we moved they were put in the basement, and we kind of forgot about them. Until a few adays ago. They have found a new home in the studio and are begging for paint and paper. Brights? Vintage? Florals? All 3?
3 Lucky winners of the Hand Dyed Ribbon were announced on our weekly e-mail newsletter this morning. A special thanks to all of you for your inspiring comments, makes us want to dream up another giveaway! We have been stamping up a storm with our new Statement and Story rubber stamps, 8 more new stamps are in the making, and we are working away at creating new Red Lead products to compliment our rubber stamps. As soon as we get a little closer to the final stages, we want to share all of the details with you. Hopefully in a week or so.
Ok, so here is what we have been up to for the past week. Most of you know we have a full size basement at the store that is loaded-(REALLY)-with old stuff. Small tables, bookcases, stamp shelves, suitcases, old cups and saucers, chairs, plus a bunch of other stuff. We have been painting and papering for new displays at the store, and the Stampaway Convention in Ohio. I will take a few photos in a day or 2 and share them right here.
So what have you been up to? We would love to know!
Chris and I were scruffing around town last week and snatched up several large bags of vintage postage and thought it would be fun to share with you. Visit the store this week or shop on our website, spend 20 bucks and we will send you some vintage postage tucked in a cute glassine envelope. What's not to love? Hope to see you at the store!
